Overall rating: 0 Reviews

Description

The Brunswick Town/Fort Anderson State Historic Site is a North Carolina park and is open to the public year around, free of charge. The fort, a mid-19th-century earthen fort sits nearly on top of the colonial town of Brunswick. Fort Anderson was a Confederate Fort commanded by major general Samuel Gibbs French during the American Civil War.

The site features walking paths, the old 1700 Brunswick town ruins, a church and graveyard, canons, a riverwalk with sweeping views of the Cape Fear River and a visitor center. Enjoy a loop pathway that will give you and and your canine friend a good walk, but beware of the alligators.
